IF
you are a
restaurateur
Dine Out Against
Hunger is
scheduled for
Thursday, April
17,2008. Dine Out Against
Hunger is designed to
promote the name
and increase the
sales of
restaurants that
care about the
hungry and
homeless in our
borough, and who
commit to donate
a portion of
that day’s
restaurant
profits to
support Project
Hospitality’s
soup kitchen and
food pantry
programs. Dine
Out Against
Hungry 2008
raised nearly
$80,000. We
would be
thrilled if you
join us next
year and help
make Dine Out
Against Hunger
2008 another
tremendous
success!
Last year, the
Staten Island
Advance printed
the entire list
of participating
restaurants four
times. This is
wonderful
exposure for
your restaurant.
The earlier that
you send in your
participation
agreement, the
more publicity
you will
receive. To
include your
restaurant’s
name for Dine
Out Against
Hunger 2008
printed
promotional
materials, we
would need
signed
agreements in
hand by: March
21,2008.
This year we are
launching a new
initiative to
ask restaurant
vendors with
whom you do
business to
become partners
in Dine Out
Against Hunger
2006 by
contributing
$250 - $750 to
support this
event. Enclosed
please find
these cards that
you may use to
send with any
correspondence
you have with
your vendors. If
you need more
cards, please
contact Anita
Yuen at (718)
448-1544, Ext.
163.
How you can help
In addition,
your restaurant
donation for
Dine Out
Against Hunger
2008 will

Anti-Hunger
Challenge Grant.
Your donation
will go even
further to help
meet the needs
of hungry people
on Staten
Island.
Please review,
sign and return
your agreement
as soon possible
to Anita Yuen (anyuen@projecthospitality.org),
either by fax

Dine Out
Against Hunger
2008 is
scheduled for
Thursday, April
26th.
Dine Out Against
Hunger is a
restaurant-based
fundraiser that
benefits the
feeding programs
of Project
Hospitality, the
most
comprehensive
food pantry and
soup kitchen
program on
Staten Island.
Over one hundred
restaurants will
be involved in
this ninth
annual effort.
The Staten
Island Advance
and Borough
President Molinaro's
Office, as
always, have
been extremely
helpful in
publicizing this
event, as have
Time Warner
Cable and other
groups.
Dine Out Against
Hunger, 2008 comes
to you with a
very specific
request that can
be easily
implemented and
yet will assist
the hungry and
homeless of
Staten Island.
Makes this Dine
Out's Committee,
comprised of a
number of
prominent Staten
Islanders, asked
me this week to
contact you with
a specific
request: Would
you allow Dine
Out to place in
your business or
school our Dine
Out plates so
that your
customers or
students could
assist Dine Out
by sponsoring a
plate in their
name through
making a
donation?
The plate could
then be posted
in appropriate
spots. to show
your
participation in
Dine Out and to
provide
publicity for
the April 26th
event.
This unique event
brings together
a highly
motivated and
large number of
restaurateurs
and an
enthusiastic
planning
committee. It is
our hope that you
can favorably
respond to this
request.
Enclosed is
a reply card
addressed to
Anita Yuen of
Project
Hospitality
(718-448-1544
ext. 163). She
will work
closely and
efficiently with
whomever you
name as your
organization's
contract person.
Sincere thanks
for your help on
this and many
other issues of
common concern
for the welfare
of Staten
Island.
